A clicker was a skilled worker who cut out the upper part of the shoe from the leather, the elite of the shoe making trade.The name comes from the clicking sound made by the knife on the board beneath the leather.
In 2018, Havac Walkers are planning to introduce 14 new Permanent Trails, all relating to The BWF World War 1 Challenge. As a result, it has been decided not to register the following, existing Permanent Trails for the year 2018. Whether they are re-opened at a later date, or whether the World War 1 Trails will be continued, will be decided next July, when registration for 2019 has to be completed.

Because of the A14 improvement roadworks up to late 2020, access to the start venue, The White Swan, Conington, might be disrupted, possibly with minor delays and diversions. The routes have been amended accordingly, and are still walkable.
